Event Info
One of Berlioz’s most popular and enduring works, L’Enfance du Christ (Childhood of Christ) tells the story of Herod’s massacre of the innocents and the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt. This exquisite and gentle composition includes the famous “Shepherds’ Farewell”, whose charm and deceptive simplicity has rendered it a Christmas choral favourite. For the first time in Perth in nearly 30 years, the University of Western Australia Choral Society under the baton of Burhan Güner will be performing this beautiful oratorio with orchestra and soloists in Winthrop Hall.
