Event Info
A traditional pantomime written by Tony Nicholls and directed by Duncan Sharp.
Somewhere in a far off country, a long, long time ago...a powerful genie who could grant any wish was caught doing something he shouldn't. As a punishment the Guardians of The Universe imprisoned him in a lamp...
In Ancient China, long before Marco Polo and even longer before the Beijing Olympics there lived a boy called Aladdin who dreamed of being famous, rich and powerful and who never wanted to work a day in his life. In the days before television he couldn't rely on Chinese Idol, or even on Lotto, so what could he do?
Not far away there also lived a wicked magician called Abanazar who also dreamed of being famous, rich and powerful and who also never wanted to work a day in his life. In the days before electricity he couldn't host a quiz show, or even be the CEO of Telstra, so what could he do?
A little further away there also lived the Empress Tai Ping whose daughter, Princess Badroulbadour, was the most beautiful girl in the land. The Empress (who never needed to work a day in her life) needed to find someone famous, rich and powerful to marry her daughter. In the days before iron ore magnates and oil speculators what could she do?
Tony Nicholls' much-loved traditional pantomime makes a welcome Olympics-year-updated-return to the stage as the Hayman Theatre Company treats you to all the fun, sing-alongs, thrills and bad jokes of Aladdin - The Story of A Boy.
Highly suitable for Senior High School Children.
