Event Info

Peter Hill (UK) is a world-leading expert on Olivier Messiaen, having co-written the definitive biography,
Messiaen (Yale) which was released in 2005. Hill is a celebrated concert pianist and is particularly
ell-known for his performance of twentieth century repertoire, including Messiaen’s complete piano works, which he recorded with the support and guidance of the composer himself.

In this concert, Hill will collaborate with UWA Music staff and students in a performance of Messiaen’s
Quartet
for the End of Time (written during his incarceration in a German PoW camp during World War II), and will accompany this performance with an informative talk about the work. A wonderful chance to hear a leading Messiaen scholar talk about one of his most interesting works in his Centenary year.
